Patriotism is on my mind
I’m really bummed out about the news that Charleton Heston died this weekend at the age of 84. I always considered him a great patriot (in addition to being a great actor) and someone who really stood up for what he believed in despite a lot of popular sentiment against him.
(… I know in the context of the comic above I just shattered someone’s mind, didn’t I?)
I’d also like to take a moment to thank the people who make Politico! possible - Thank you to all the people posting awesome photos on Flickr, who are too numerous to name. I only use photos published under the Creative Commons license (or those which are otherwise public domain), which is a very quick ‘n dirty way to allow people access to use your photos to make, well, art (if you want to call something like this art). I honestly appreciate the openness that each and every one of you has displayed in allowing me the use of your property.
Major thanks are also due to my friend Josh Hogan (www.drhogie.com) , who basically helps me with everything related to this site. Without him I’d still be trying to figure out how to install Wordpress or make posts. Major thanks to my friend Viv (who I don’t have a site for, but if she updates me I’ll definitely toss her a link) who helped me nail down the site design, even when I wanted to give up (I believe the phrase “screw Internet Explorer, I don’t care if that’s off-center” was said by me about 300 times), and to Daryl Brewer (www.brewguy.ca) who volunteered to do that for me but didn’t have time to get around to it. I owe you guys actual money, but since I don’t have it, please accept my thanks.
Okay, enough of that. See you all Friday.
